Polestar advised on the sale of the exiting vendors’ equity and a capital investment for Anglia Business Solutions Holdings Limited. The disposal was to an MBO team backed by Westbridge Capital and Glumarra, a US-based strategic industry partner. Senior debt funding was provided by the Co-Operative Bank.
Cambridge-based Anglia focuses on the food supply sector, with specialist business units including secure networking, CRM solutions and software development. Multiple award-winning Anglia also holds Microsoft’s highest Gold Certified Partner accreditation and won Microsoft’s Worldwide NAV partner of the year in 2011. The development capital will be used to develop its AX platform offering and to expand internationally.
Rob Frost, Anglia’s CEO who led the management buyout, commented:
“I can honestly say this is the most exciting time for my colleagues and me. After years of carefully nurturing this company, we are now poised for significant growth.”
Richard Hall, who led Polestar’s team, said:
“It is always exciting to be involved with a business at a crossroads. Having established a strong presence and reputation, Anglia is poised to exploit a range of international growth opportunities. We are delighted to have worked with the founder’s family and the incumbent management team to secure a bright future for this market leading business.”
Rob Frost added:
“I was recommended Polestar by one of our clients who spoke very highly of them – they did not disappoint. From the first meeting, they gave sound, practical advice and worked extremely hard to secure a superb result for both the existing shareholders and the management involved in the buyout. My fellow Directors and I could not praise them highly enough.”
